Cleaning a Deck or Fence – Pressure or Power Washing

One of the best ways to clean the surface of a dirty, weathered redwood deck or fence is to power wash it with a high pressure water sprayer or pressure washer. While the process of pressure washing is pretty simple, those that are inexperienced in working with wood can seriously damage the surface of a deck, adding more work and expense into the deck cleaning process.

Deckmasters’ San Diego professionals are trained to pressure wash your fence or deck and bring out a uniform, clean, near-new finish. All of our deck restoration pros can power wash wood decks without damaging soft wood surface fibers that can result in severely raised wood grain, cutting grooves into wood surfaces, excessive splintering or fraying, and a host of other problems.

While it may seem simple, proper use of a pressure washer takes careful technique and an understanding of each unique deck or fence surface. When it comes to consistently excellent deck restoration results, Deckmasters experience makes the difference.

Our staff will thoroughly wash all deck surfaces and nearby surfaces that are made of the same material as the deck. Extra time and care is taken to clean all areas of the deck—even the small or hard-to-reach areas—to assure complete dirt removal, uniform color, and even sealer application. Once clean, the wood is treated with a brightening agent and is ready for sealing.

If deeper cleaning and refinishing is needed, your Deckmasters professional may recommend your deck be sanded before sealer or stain is applied. Arbors, trellises, gazebos and other structures can be power washed and sealed as well and are quoted separately.
